Background:

Andy is recognised as a talented and very experienced businessman-coach-mentor. He has a portfolio of non-executive, advisory and coaching activities; spending half his time as an active coach & mentor and the other half of his time with his "feet-on-the-ground" as a manager and leader.

His corporate career was forged in Hewlett-Packard in which over a period of nearly 20 years he led businesses from £1.5m to £1.5Bn, including national, international and ultimately global business responsibilities.

He has complemented his large company experience with a large number of SME assignments as both leader and adviser. He is well versed in the importance and methods of leadership, Insights into all the key functions of running a business and is particularly successful in helping clients improve their strategic leadership, operational management and individual and company communications. He is known for his balance and experience combined with an infectious drive for success.

Andy is passionate about sharing his learning’s with the business leaders of the future. He has gained a profile as an executive coach & mentor and applies his energies to both in the commercial market along with activities in the charity and social enterprise context where he is Chairman of the Talent Foundation – a research organisation focused on development in the workplace, former Chairman of the Samaritans in Berkshire and has served as board adviser to the charity New Approaches to Cancer.

Executive Coaching and Mentoring
Building on his consulting and mentoring track record, Andy has been operating as an International Coach Federation(ICF) accredited coach for nearly ten years, working with board level executives from FTSE quoted companies, through group leadership teams to relative start-up businesses. Whilst Andy’s career was founded in the IT and IT services arena his clients now come from all sectors such as high-tech, professional services, pharmaceutical, FSI and education and training. He is a member of the International Coaching Federation (MICF).

Other areas of expertise

Over the last 15 years he has also adopted a number of Directorships both Executive and Non-Executive, complemented by pro-bono work in the charity and not-for–profit sector. His roles have included Group CEO of a fast growing Aim listed plc, he is currently chair to three companies and a not-for-profit business, focused variously on manufacturing, Customer Experience and Executive development. He recently undertook an interim assignment to set up a new business division for the Pearson Group and currently is Executive Chairman of a niche manufacturing firm in the electronic authentication market.
